5 Reasons Why You Should Book Your Dehradun Vacation With Hyatt Regency Dehradun

We all have different choices when it comes to vacations! While some prefer an action-packed adventure vacation with thrilling hikes and exhilarating adventure sports, there are others who just like to relax and unwind without having to lift a finger. Well, I fall into the second category. I prefer intimacy and digital detox to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature, interesting cocktails and delicious food, but above all, for myself. But that doesn’t mean it’s just about lounging on the poolside lounger and sipping G&T, it’s also about celebrating – whether at the best table on the dance floor, on soothing live music (read: jazz), or with friends in a see-and-be-seen environment. And when it comes to choosing the right resort, hospitality and the opportunity to experience a culture are key for me. I experienced this recently at the new Hyatt Regency Dehradun.

Sitting elegantly in the foothills of Mussoorie amidst the scenic Malsi Forest and Himalayan Range, Hyatt Regency Dehradun is the chic new kid on the block that truly redefines luxury and comfort.

So, I’m going to present to you my list of five reasons why you need to book at the Hyatt Regency Dehradun when you’re in the Sleepy Valley – not that you need any more persuading.

1. Because there are not 1, not 2 but 5 restaurants and bars to explore

It’s easy to get into a rut. With work, meetings, endless chores and the virus that will not be named, we have forgotten to relax in a luxurious way – especially when it comes to cooking. From contemporary cuisine and local specialties to sparkling cocktails, you will find everything you want at the Hyatt Regency Dehradun for your luxury vacation or staycation. I have to say that Sujas Nameth (F&B Manager) and Sahil Arora (Executive Chef) did a great job!

Range: An all-day dining restaurant redraws the culinary map of the world, with Dehradun at its center. From international cuisines to local specialties, and a menu carefully curated and served with passion, it’s a cosmopolitan, seasonal and artisanal dining experience. Featuring interactive kitchens, food shops and a craft market with outdoor seating, Range fits all bills. My food recommendation: try their gehat ki dal ke paranthe and swaley, and pahadi kheere ka raita!

Beyul: A rooftop bar, lounge and fine dining – all rolled into one, Beyul offers interesting and enchanting delicacies, prepared by regional chefs and seasoned mixologists. Set amid spectacular mountain views, it’s no surprise that Beyul serves incredible Tibetan and North Indian cuisines, and since the hotel is nestled in a growing region, all ingredients are sourced from where I ate. Tenzin Dolma is Beyul’s chef.

Sky Pool Bar & Deck: If you like to drink, relax and socialize, head to the Sky Pool Bar and treat yourself to sinful cocktails; better yet, have them in the pool. Special thanks to Aakarshit Bisht (mixologist) – he made some interesting cocktails, especially G&T using local ingredients (watch here).

The Malt Bar: This bespoke bar caters to all whiskey lovers. As the name suggests, The Malt Bar offers a hand-picked selection of ‘World Whiskies’, cigars and a drinks list that covers both classics and ‘new age’ offerings.

The Market: Open 24/7, The Market (part of Range) is a one stop shop for all things local. You can choose from a range of artisan products sourced directly from local farmers and artisans. I picked quite a few local ingredients for my food-loving sister.

2. Because you’ll stay in pet-friendly rooms and suites

When it’s Hyatt, you can be assured of unparalleled luxury and ultimate pampering. Rooms at the Hyatt Regency Dehradun are bright and airy rooms with private balconies to take in the lavish forest views. There are 24 suites, 14 deluxe rooms, 18 regency suites, 37 club rooms with balconies, five executive suites and a solitary presidential suite – take your pick! And yes, you can stay here with your four-legged friends!

Much emphasis is placed on sustainability and resource conservation. These elegantly furnished rooms are fitted with auto-sensing lights to save energy. In addition, the water we drink is sustainably recycled at their own water plant and offered in glass bottles.

3. Because nothing says rest and relaxation than a sumptuous spa break

If you’re anything like me, the first thing you’d do after checking into your room is book a spa session! There’s no better way to ease your stress than with a luxury spa vacation. Spa vacations have become increasingly popular in recent years, and it’s no wonder it’s happening. Imagine a weekend in a calm and quiet place like the sleepy valley of Dehradun, where you can pamper yourself, enjoy the spa with your partner – bliss! Hyatt Regency Dehradun ticks all the boxes here. Six peaceful and well-equipped spa rooms, as well as a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and changing rooms are sure to melt the stress away.

4. Because there’s more than something for your kids – Camp Hyatt

Traveling with the little ones in tow can sometimes be tricky (really tricky) business. So if you’re starting your family vacation adventure but don’t want to suffer from the tantrums of kids on vacation (no pun intended!), Hyatt Regency Dehradun offers Camp Hyatt at Hyatt Regency Dehradun. The camp offers a world of fun, learning and exploration with immersive activities designed to keep kids entertained all day long so you can worry-free soak up the picturesque views of the Malsi Forest while sipping on interesting cocktails at the Sky Pool Bar.

5. Because the hotel staff is super warm and hospitable

You can’t help but feel at home during your stay at Hyatt Regency Dehradun. Credit goes to all the smiles and greetings from the staff and indeed the locals, whether you’re sitting in a restaurant waiting for food or chatting with the local bartender – the friendly staff makes it that much harder to make your suitcases and leave the premises. And there’s a “cute on duty” (read: furry) hotel staff member – Lucy – who will greet you with a big hug and get your full attention.
In my opinion, more than food, drink and all the luxuries, it’s always the people that make your experience better, and in this case, it definitely is. A big shout out to the hotel staff and management!

I will write saying that the holidays are where great memories are made. These moments of pleasure, of exploring destinations, as a family or as a couple, are invaluable experiences that make memories. You can take this to the bank. The memory bank, of course. It was a familiarization trip that didn’t feel like a familiarization trip!
