Virat Kohli has turned the late singer Kishore Kumar’s bungalow in Mumbai’s Juhu district into a restaurant. The Gouri Kunj bungalow is now a new-age restaurant that offers a range of cuisines from North Indian to Mediterranean.

Kohli’s one8 Commune restaurant chain also offers a vegetarian menu with dishes such as Poke Bowls, Taro Leaf Wadi, Cottage Cheese Steak with Fennel Stew, Bhavnagri Mirchi and Maharashtrian Lamb Curry. It also offers experimental items like Deconstructed Picante, a liquid appetizer, and Chocolate Punch.

Commenting on the location and menu, one8 Commune Chef, Pawan Bisht, said: “The one8 Commune destination sits on the property of a man who admired the culture and arts of the world. As a tribute, it is quite normal that we offer the cuisines of the world behind the doors of our kitchens.

The menu also includes a section known as “Favorites de Virat” which includes items such as pearl barley risotto, superfood salad, avocado tartare and Googly Dimsums mushrooms. While the Mushroom Googly Dimsums include an assortment of wild mushrooms, cream cheese, vegetarian broth and truffle oil, the Pearl Barley Risotto is a concoction of mushroom pâté, truffle oil, parmesan cheese, watercress and fresh herbs.

The Superfood Salad is loaded with assorted greens, amaranth seeds, roasted pumpkin seeds and cantaloupe melon.

Kohli mentioned that his favorite is the avocado tartare and he liked it so much he asked the chef to make him a serving. The avocado tartare is made with sliced ​​avocado, tempura avocado, sweet corn sriracha mayonnaise, green onions and soy ponzu. Besides that, it also offers cocktails and has a menu of light snacks.

The cricketer also noted that the main focus of one8 Commune was to experiment with green vegetables and grains and convert them into healthy and light dishes with bold flavors.
